Job Hunting Successful

Hey, As some of you know an extremely fortunate event occurred last Thursday night. I was in Miranda job hunting. I was so happy just to be away from hurstville. Well my goal was to get a job in anything other then food, preferably retail or a bookshop. One of the jobs you must know that I would be a natural at would have to be working at T2.Although I missed out on my opportunity to work here. This didn't crush my hopes. I applied at many various outlets, be it books, clothing, perfume etc. Before I was to be picked up by mother dearest I thought I would try my luck at a lovely store they call city beach. And all of a sudden all the crappy jobs with cleaning and washing, all the time spent handing in resumes and volunteering for various events finally paid off. I got the job. Now i just needed to change my usual wardrobe of general pants and 2nd hand store clothing a revamp. In other words I had an excuse to go shopping. Here are my particular finds.

Ok I cheated a smidge I got a couple things from general pants, only 3 singlets though. But I adore this one.

Shorts and vest from city beach

I bought these two skirts from Cotton on, They are so Alice in Wonderland. I love them.

My wolf dress from city beach. Yer the sides are kind of trippy but hey guess its the style.

Another strange sided dress, zebra styling.

My little black summer dress from city beach

I know I know its not that much but its and effort. And you can't blame a girl for trying.

Duke of Ed Hike Silver

Duke of Edinburgh Silver Test Hike

I have to say these hikes just keep getting better every time. This much anticipated event occurred on the first three days of school holidays. Dedicated right. Some of my best times at Danebank have been spent on these hikes. I know I know how can hiking be fun. You wouldn't think hiking through the Australian bush with 15kg hiking packs would be fun but really it just makes everything more memorable.

The members of my particular hiking group included (in picture) Isobel, Ranga Liz, Erato, Adrienne, Jess, Liz, Britters and Myself. We were accompanied by two other groups, the A team who are the smart people who might actually like hiking, and the Blondes who are a group of preppy shire lovers who think because the teachers love them then the rest of the grade will. Not the case. This hike I must say there was a very harsh tension between our group and the Blondes. The A team was neutral.

On the first day it stormed and rained heavily. It also hailed which just reassured us how stupid it was to be hiking on our school holidays. This rain ceased after it had thoroughly soaked each and everyone of us and our packs and everything inside of them. It was a very pleasurable experience. On the first night the Blondes and the a team slept in a very small cave which my group refused to stay in due to its close proximity with the Blondes. We slept outside in our own little campsite and it didn't even rain.

The second day just consisted of some up and downs, terrain wise including a extremely steep descent to our second campsite. We slept next to a freshwater creek where the scenery was quite intriguing. This was the beginning on one of the greatest duke of ed nights with my friend Jess England.

Instead of going to bed like the good school girls were doing we went for a midnight walk.

On this midnight walk I achieved my two goals to achieve on a duke of ed hike:
1. Smoke
2. Drink

In which both were completely and utterly achieved and enjoyed in the process.

After finishing our bottle of Frantelle "water" we decided to go swimming in the river. At first we went in our clothes but soon realized it was much to wet and got to our underwear. Trying to cross the river on protruding rocks Jess managed to step on a rock that had a yellow and black snake under it. It was a big struggle to get back to the shore, I managed to completely soak myself slipping on a rock. All night you could not wipe the smiles off our faces if you tried.

The next day was spent hopping across rocks to get across the river like little bush critters. We crossed this river repeatedly this way 44 times and im not exaggerating. All in all this hike was amazing it was worth every second and if I could do it again I would make sure Britters didnt injure her ankle which meant she was sent home. Sorry Britter's.

My door has been opened

Sometimes you have to go through different doors to change yourself for the better. I have had a door open for me recently. During exams I had an interview for Inaburra School which I was quite successful. Positive aspects of Inaburra would have to include it being close to home, better uniforms, no more daily Hurstville injections, its co-ed, and my mum has a house across the road for work which has a kitchen out the back for coffee breaks. I will be stepping through this door next year, and I couldn't be more excited.
This change is for the better. I will get nostalgic at the odd moment when I am missing moments I experienced at Danebank that can never be replaced. Like christian studies with Taylor and Danielle or English with Leilani. Or arguments with Mrs Stalder or my talks with Mrs Nunn. Danebank had its ups and downs but I think it has past its expiration date, and its time for a change.

I will miss being in this patch of watermelons

Hold my Hand

Your following your path and im following mine. They may contain different foliage along the sides but our destinations are the same. I'm still following my path to know were it takes me. But im not looking anymore, I have already found you. Let us walk together.
